Mesopotamia Quiz

Mesopotamia Quiz will be next Thursday (September, 5th).  Quiz will cover all notes, readings, and DBQ.  

August 26th- August 30th

This week we will begin studying the first civilization, Mesopotamia.  I am so excited to introduce to students to the major early river civilizations.  Students will analyze the characteristics of early civilizations pertaining to geography, government, technology, art, architecture, religion, and daily life. 

We will also be learning how to access and use schoology.  Schoology will be used a lot in my class.

* Readings this week will be given Monday and Wednesday for homework.
* CNN Student News Quiz Friday

* Don't forget about Homewood History Hunt
* Don't forget to sign up for reminders to be texted to your cell phone using remind 101.  This can be done by students and parents.

First Week!

Welcome back! I hope everyone had a great first day of 8th grade at HMS and you are ready for a good year.  This week we will be studying Primary and Secondary Sources.  Below you will see important dates and assignments for this week. (August 19th- August 23rd)

• Tuesday, August 20th. Homework: Reading- History: What it is- What it Means, What is Anthropology, and What do Fossils Tell Us?
• Wednesday, August 21st. Homework: Reading- Archaeologist Fact or Fiction, What it Takes to Become an Archaeologist, and What is a Geologist?

* Be prepared for a reading quiz for both sets of readings.
